A bright light in a dark world

 R U Thirsty?

Beyond physical thirst, are you thirsty for something deeper in your life? Is there something that seems to be missing? Are you thirsty for more?

We were all created for more than just a day to day physical existence. We are designed with a need for more than mere survival. We were created to thrive, and not just survive. We were created to really live!

We are all designed with a spiritual need, and with a spiritual desire to have a relationship with God. We may not recognize it as such, and we often try to fill our spiritual need with something other than with God. However, nothing else will ever really satisfy us, until we discover a personal relationship with God.

Jesus said,
"If any man thirsts, let him come unto me and drink. He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water."
    - John 7:37-38
If you are thirsty for something more in life, will you come to Jesus? He wants a relationship with you.

The Bible teaches that Christians must have Faith in God in order to have a relationship with him and the word Faith can be used to illustrate more fully what it takes for a person to have a relationship with Jesus.
F is for Forgiveness
The Wrong things that we have done (these things we often times call sin) separate us from God so that we cannot have a personal relationship with Jesus without first being forgiven for the bad things that we have done. This needed forgiveness is provided by Jesus through his death
Ephesians 1:7 States "In [Christ], we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sin."
A is for Available
God’s forgiveness is available to all people.
John 3:16 states “For God so loved the world that He sent his only-begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
Though God offers this forgiveness to all people this forgiveness is not automatic a person must accept God’s free offer of forgiveness. The Bible teaches that not all will receive forgiveness
Matthew 7:14 says “Narrow is the way that leads to eternal life, and few there be that find it.”
I is for impossible
It is impossible for man to earn his salvation.
In Romans 3:23, the Bible tells us that all people have sinned and Romans 6:23 explains that the proper punishment of that sin is death. Thus it does not matter what good we do, we are still condemned to death.
As Titus 3:5 says “Not by works of Righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy, He saved us”
T is for Turn
The Bible teaches that as a part of accepting Jesus that man should turn away from his sin and self and turn to Christ Jesus. This turning away is called repentance.
Luke 13:3 says “I tell you but except you repent, you shall all likewise perish”
And Romans 10:9 says “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you shalt be saved.”
H is for Heaven
Heaven is the name of the place were all who have been forgiven and have a personal relationship with Jesus will live forever, we sometimes will call this everlasting life. It is this true life that all men are thirsty for.  This amazing life start here on earth
In John 10:10 Jesus States “I come that they might have life, and that they have it more abundantly.”
And this Life will continue on in the hereafter
In John 14:3 Jesus States “And If I Go to prepare a place for You I will come back again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
So How can a Person have this relationship with God, receive his forgiveness and experience his everlasting Life? By trusting in Jesus and asking him to come and be the Savior and Lord of your life. You must take the step of FAITH. Described in another way FAITH can be illustrated by the phrase “Forsaking All I Trust Him.” And it is this kind of radical dependence on Jesus that we must have when we accept him as our Savior and Lord.
IF you would like to accept Jesus you can pray right now and ask him into your heart
Just pray the following
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have displeased you in many ways. I believe you died for my sin and only through faith in your death and resurrection can I be forgiven. I want to turn from my sin and ask you to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. Form this day on, I will follow you by living a life that pleases You. Thank You, Lord Jesus for saving me. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer and meant it then congratulations!! You are now have a relationship with God and are a part of his family. The next step then is to become a member of a local church and be baptized in obedience to the call of Christ. If you did pray this prayer or if you just have more questions, then please contact us.
