A bright light in a dark world

From Our Pastor

Rev. Tony Bunton

Pamela and I are delighted to be serving at Yadkin. The Lord led us here in March 2010 and the Lord Jesus is moving in hearts and lives. We’re seeing people saved by the grace of God and lives being changed.

At Yadkin you’ll find people that love the Lord Jesus Christ and one another. You will also find ministries that are Christ centered for children, teenagers and adults of all ages.

Here you’ll find a congregation that genuinely loves people and is involved in the community sharing Christ and also helping those in need through the work of our Baptist Men and Women on Missions.

Our worship services seek to honor the Lord Jesus through our music, singing and the preaching of God’s Holy Word.

I want to give you a special invitation to come and visit us at Yadkin Baptist Church.

It’s our hope and prayer that you will sense the presence of God when you visit and worship with us.

Yadkin is a member of the South Yadkin Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist Convention.

In Christ,

Pastor Tony E. Bunton

Ministry statement:
I was saved at the age of seventeen and felt the call of God to enter the ministry one year later in 1976. I believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God from Genesis to Revelation. I feel a pastor should be a leader and feeder; leading the people of God to carry out the great commission, disciple them and help them to get involved in some aspect of ministry using their spiritual gifts. I believe in working in partnership with the church leadership. I also believe in supporting missions at home and around the world.

It’s been my pleasure to pastor churches in Alexander, Catawba, Wilkes and Iredell County. I also pastored and served as the Executive Director of the Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry in Catawba County from 1998 – April 2010. The ministry constructed and paid for a new facility and the services to families grew from 6,500 to 42,630 when I left to become the pastor of Yadkin.

I’ve also been active in denominational work through the associations and served in the following areas: Board Secretary; Chair of Finance; Chair of DOM Search Committee; Revival Committee; Executive Committee.
